Porcelain Patio Installers

Porcelain has become the most requested patio stone for modern homes, and it is easy to see why. The slabs are dense and non-porous, so spills, moss and grime sit on the surface and wash off rather than soaking in.

Large-format porcelain needs careful laying. Each slab is bedded fully so there are no hollow spots, the joints are kept tight and even, and the levels are checked as the work goes so the finished patio is flat and true.

Matching porcelain steps, step treads and edge pieces can be used where the patio meets the back door or a raised lawn, giving the whole space one clean finish.

How It Works

How Porcelain Is Laid

  1. Choose the Slabs

Porcelain samples come to the visit so you can see the colour against your house.

  2. Prepare the Base

The ground is dug out and a firm base is compacted to the right levels and falls.

  3. Full-Bed Laying

Each slab is laid on a full bed of mortar so there are no hollow spots underneath.

  4. Joints & Steps

Joints are filled and any steps or edge pieces are finished to match.

  5. Final Check Together

We review the completed work with you and confirm everything has been done as agreed.

FAQs

Porcelain Patio Questions

Is Porcelain Slippery When Wet?

Outdoor porcelain has a textured surface made for gardens, giving good grip in the wet. Samples at the visit let you feel the finish before choosing.

Does Porcelain Need Sealing?

No. Porcelain is non-porous, so it does not need sealing to keep stains out. A wash with soapy water is usually all it needs.

Why Does Porcelain Cost More to Lay?

The slabs are large and very hard, so they take more time to cut, and each one is fully bedded to avoid hollow spots. That care is what keeps a porcelain patio flat and sound.

Can I Have Porcelain Steps to Match?

Yes. Matching porcelain steps, treads and edge pieces can be laid so the steps to the back door finish in the same stone as the patio.

Will a Porcelain Patio Fade?

No. The colour runs through the slab and holds in sunlight, so a porcelain patio looks the same years later.
