Patio Paving

Garden Fencing Installers

A good fence gives a garden privacy, keeps children and pets in and frames the patio and lawn with a clean line. It also takes a battering from Irish wind and rain, so it has to be set firmly from the start.

Choose modern slatted fencing, with horizontal boards that suit contemporary patios, or traditional panel fencing for a solid, private boundary. Either way the posts are set first and the run is kept straight and level along the boundary.

Fencing is often put up as part of a new patio, with raised beds, paths and retaining walls, so the levels and finishes of the whole garden are planned together.

How It Works

How Your Fence Goes Up

  1. Measure the Boundary

We look at the boundary and the ground and agree the line, height and style of the fence.

  2. Set Out the Line

The run is marked out and the post positions are spaced along it.

  3. Set the Posts

Posts are set firmly in the ground and checked for line and level.

  4. Fix the Fencing

Slats or panels are fixed between the posts, with any gate hung in place.

  5. Final Check Together

We review the completed work with you and confirm everything has been done as agreed.

FAQs

Fencing Questions

What Kind of Fencing Do You Install?

Timber fencing in slatted styles, with horizontal boards for a modern look, and traditional panel fencing, both fixed to solid posts.

Slatted or Panel Fencing: Which Is Better?

Slatted fencing suits modern patios and gives a lighter, contemporary look. Panel fencing gives a solid, private boundary and is a familiar, traditional choice. We show you both at the visit.

Can You Put Up Fencing With a New Patio?

Yes, and it often makes sense. Building the fence in the same job means the levels, beds and paths along it are planned together.

How Do You Keep a Fence Straight on Sloping Ground?

The line is set out first and each panel is stepped or levelled to follow the ground, so the top of the fence stays neat along a slope.

Can You Fit a Gate in the Fence?

Yes. A gate can be hung in the run of the fence, for example to a side passage or the front of the house.
